Merlot Farm boarding facility

We are proud of our facility and have the horse’s health and well-being our main concern with continued maintenance for safety and comfort.  Our facility is a small private facility where we want everyone to feel “at home”.  Please contact us with any questions you may have.
14 stall barn
Stall Board: 12’x14’ stalls with LEVEL flooring - $450 -$500 month, cleaned daily – 10 to 12 hours   daily turnout for stalled horses in paddocks.
​​Paddock Board: Paddock with shelter - $395/month, our paddocks are fenced with 5” vinyl and electric rope.  There is water available 24/7 and heated in winter.
Pasture board is not offered, however, horses are turned out to grass weather permitting, 2-4 hours per day.  We monitor our grass and adjust time on pasture accordingly.

Outdoor riding arena 200’ x 200’ – grass, Dressage arena – available - 60 x 20 meters or 40 x 20 meters

Stadium jumps and poles are available.A few Cross country jumps are also available - BN, N and some Training fences.
Herd size – Our herd sizes range in numbers depending on personalities and paddock size, with a min. of 3 and max. of 5.  We take extra care to make compatible groups.

Merlot Farm

- Heated lounge, kitchen, bathroom and laundry room
- Heated boarders tack room
- Two (2) tack-up stalls
- Two (2) outdoor wash areas – one with hot and cold, one with cold
- Automatic waterers in each stall.
Our barn has ventilation fans, concrete aisleway, wood stalls, and special stall flooring that keeps floor level and drained, is roomy, well-kept and ventilated.  


Feeding Program:  Individual feeding program with weight monitored continually and owner involvement highly recommended, with supplements daily.
Grain – “If we can get it we will feed it.”  Otherwise we use Ralco products with each horse having a custom feed program – changes as necessary.  An average feed amount is included with board, special feeds having higher overhead would require additional charges added to board monthly.  Concentrate is fed twice a day and upon special request a third feeding could be available.  
Hay – Hay is fed three times per day.  We purchase hay from two reliable sources.  Our hay is all grass, grass/alfalfa mix, and alfalfa.   We can customize hay depending on what our sources can provide.

Trails are available to boarders

Trails are available for boarder’s use - weather and conditions permitting.  We have trails along the MN River and due to water level conditions, snow fall, ice, etc. the trails are closed at times.  We are a 5 min. drive to the MN River Trail system, and a 20 min. drive to Carver Park
Trailer Storage available – monthly fee - $25.00
